Software unit is home for more than 130 software experts. We work on a variety of mobile and web applications. And no worries, you don’t have to know everything, with us you can learn something new and develop your skills in customer projects during the summer. Our customers come from various industries, e.g., space, medical, automation, railway, machinery, measurement equipment, GNSS, networks, telecommunications, power solutions.

We are looking for Software Summer Trainees

We are looking for software enthusiasts to join our experienced engineers over summer and possibly longer. In this role you will work on a project that best suits your background and interests.

Our main technologies are Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React, Node.JS, Flutter and .Net. Our code usually runs on either AWS or Azure. We use Microsoft tools in our daily work.

What should you expect to accomplish during the internship?

Your goal is to find your feet in our group and become a trusted member of the project team.

As you start you will be welcomed by your Huld leader and introduced to warm office atmosphere and colleagues. You  will join a project team. Your Project Manager will introduce you to the project, your responsibilities, tasks and expectations. You will be assigned a Mentor who will help you to ramp up your project work efficiently and support you until you become an independent contributor. Your success is measured by collecting feedback from your colleagues, customers and by your own satisfaction.

There is no path set in a stone at Huld and we invite you to lay out your own! 

Here’s the recipe for success

You’ll have a head start in the recruitment process if:

• Know at least one programming language/stack well.
• Are familiar with web stack (frontend+backend tech, communication protocols, relational databases, etc.).
• Have previous experience in teamwork with good development practices (e.g. code reviews) and in using Git.
• Make it through the day in English.
• Are located in Vaasa, Tampere or Jyväskylä.

If you don’t check every box on the list, don’t worry. We’re seeking potential, not superhumans.

You’re all good if your application includes:

• A link to your GitHub or similar site. Your code sample is often the first thing we look at in an application, so make sure it represents your current coding skills.
• A cover letter in which you tell us about yourself and why you would like to work at Huld. We appreciate seeing your personality through the letter.
• A CV that we can see what you’ve done previously. We’re not only after people with tons of work experience. We’re also interested in development experience gathered from hobby projects or studies.
