We are looking for Space Software Summer Trainee(s)

We are looking for space software enthusiasts to join our experienced engineers over summer and possibly longer. In this role you will work on a project that best suits your background and interests. The daily tasks may vary but typically include software development or testing using C, C++, Java, Python or Ada, continuous integration using DevOps tools, possibly preparing relevant documentation, supporting your colleagues, customers and our sales team.

What should you expect to accomplish during the internship?

Your goal is to find your feet in our group and become a trusted member of the project team. As you start you will be welcomed by your supervisor and introduced to warm office atmosphere and colleagues. You will join a project team. Your Project Manager will introduce you to the project, your responsibilities, tasks and expectations. You will be assigned a Mentor who will help you to ramp up your project work efficiently and support you until you become an independent contributor. Your success is measured by collecting feedback from your colleagues, customers and by your own satisfaction.

Here’s the recipe for success

Prerequisites

• Pursuing a degree in Physics, Mathematics, Space engineering, Robotics or Automation.

• You have completed your BSc degree and are in final year of MSc studies or advanced towards PhD degree.

• Programming skills in at least two of the languages: C, C++, Java, Python.

• Experience with embedded systems or scientific computing from previous work, course or hobby projects.

• Strong problem-solving abilities, ability and interest to learn new topics.

• Good communications skills and ability to work both as part of a team and individually.

Nice-to-haves

• Basic ML understanding and curiosity about AI techniques.

• Some experience with source code management tools, Git for example.

• Interest in software testing and experience with unit testing.

• Quality-oriented mindset.

• Fluent English.
