What’s your everyday life at Huld like?
I primarily engage in client work, and my job involves diverse projects. My focus areas revolve around secure software development, threat modelling, and cloud security. I also contribute to the planning and implementation of internal secure software development training.
My role encompasses a wide range of tasks, including the security assessments of various systems. I enjoy the opportunity to try out different things and, through that, discover my own passion and strengths.
What’s your background story?
I ended up studying computer science because I was interested in mathematics and believed that in the field of information technology, I could apply this interest. During my studies, I discovered that specializing in cybersecurity felt interesting and motivating.
While my initial professional background was in software development, the time to write my thesis marked a turning point. Driven by my cybersecurity studies, transitioning into this field felt like a seamless and natural progression. And that's when I found my way to Huld.
What should everyone know about digital security?
Understanding the diversity of digital security is crucial. Security is a comprehensive matter that requires collaboration across various domains. Security culture is one of these components, however sometimes underestimated.
To me, security culture means that reporting deviations is not shameful, and falling to scams is not a sign of foolishness. I hope organizations engage in open discussions about security both internally and externally. Also, I would like to encourage everyone to remember that general security is essential, and if something happens, seeking help is not embarrassing. Open dialogue and cooperation build a strong foundation for advancing digital security.
What do you dream about?
For a long time, my dream was to enter the field of cybersecurity. Now that I achieved this goal, I want to cherish this opportunity. My ongoing aspiration is to make a meaningful impact and empower others in the field.
Snap, and you're an expert – in what?
I would like to learn to speak as many languages as possible. I'm practicing French on Duolingo, so I guess that's a good start.
